2:7 “Treat fairly ¹  the sons of Barzillai of Gilead and provide for their needs, ²  because they helped me ³  when I had to flee from your brother Absalom.

8:23 He prayed: ⁴  “O Lord, God of Israel, there is no god like you in heaven above or on earth below! You maintain covenantal loyalty ⁵  to your servants who obey you with sincerity. ⁶

8:32 Listen from heaven and make a just decision about your servants’ claims. Condemn the guilty party, declare the other innocent, and give both of them what they deserve. ⁷

19:10 He answered, “I have been absolutely loyal ⁸  to the Lord, the sovereign God, ⁹  even though the Israelites have abandoned the agreement they made with you, ¹⁰  torn down your altars, and killed your prophets with the sword. I alone am left and now they want to take my life.” ¹¹
